The Voices Project Report is now officially launched and ready for distribution. This report was the result of a collaboration project between Complex Care Group and the NZ Federation of Disability Information Centres. The project involved a survey to which 70 parents responded – and 10 detailed interviews conducted around NZ. The project sought to hear and capture to voice of parents who care for a profoundly disabled person, particularly a person with significant intellectual disability who does not have a voice of their own (they may be non-verbal for example). Here is a link to the report https://www.complexcaregroup.org.nz/voices-project-report-email-version/
The report was launched at an event at Te Papa Museum in Wellington on Tuesday evening 30th June. The event was attended by Minister for Disability Issues Carmel Sepuloni, Adri Isbister (Deputy Director General, Disability), Paula Tesoriero (Disability Rights Commissioner) and Claire Stearne (National Contracts Manager, Ministry of Social Development) as well as several other invitees.
