PLASTIC STRAW DISCONTINUATION RESEARCH
In June 2021 government agreed to the phased discontinuation of plastic straws (and several other single use plastics) beginning July 2023, in line with NZ’s environmental protection goals. This may impact on those who regularly use bendable plastic straws including some disabled people with cerebral palsy, spinal injuries/conditions, amputees, etc.
UMR Research is conducting research on this issue and would like to speak directly with affected disabled people or their caregivers. A $40 koha payment is available to research participants.
