Resuming Thursday 23rd July 11.30am till 1pm (tune in from 11.15am ready for a prompt start).
These virtual Zoom meetings run every Thursday at the same time and are a collaboration between Family Network NZ and Complex Care Group. The meetings are designed for parents to express their concerns, challenges and triumphs in supporting their family members with a disability. All parents are welcome to these Zoom meetings – they are a place for safe and respectful conversations. Everyone will have an opportunity to speak if they wish and whilst we prefer you keep your camera on if possible you can deactivate it if necessary.
These Zoom meetings generally feature a guest speaker to explore the issues affecting parents. This Thursday 23rd July our guest speaker is Sue Robertson – parent of a young woman with a disability, Change and Practice Manager at Spectrum Care and board member of Family Network NZ. Sue will speak about why and how to create a Vision for the future for your disabled family member, and processes around creating a ‘plan’.
Paul Miller (Principal Advisor, System Transformation, Ministry of Health) will also participate in this call. Paul is there to hear the perspectives of parents and will comment as/when asked to or when appropriate.
Please indicate to Bridget or Lisa if you are intending to participate in this Zoom meeting. Contact Bridget on 021 353 755 or bridget@familynetwork.co.nz or Lisa on 027 266 7690 or complexcaregroup@xtra.co.nz
